Scientists out to prove science is everywhere – you just have to look at it the right way (try tilting your head and squinting a bit). We are three fearless adventurers in all things chemistry (as long as it is safe and there is plenty of tea).

Chemist formerly of the parish of York and Nottingham (degree and PhD) with more knowledge of phosphines and phosphorus NMR than is really healthy – anything you want to know about the effect of ring size on coupling constants, just ask. Flirted with the idea of research as a postdoc at York before realising talking about and demonstrating science appealed more than hours slaving over a hot fume hood.
Now preaching the word of science at University of Surrey running outreach for engineering, physics, computing and maths as well as co-organiser for Science Circus and doing art/science collaborations like LightTAG. I moonlight as a host of Cafe Scientifique Guildford and science sermons can also be heard on BBC Surrey Radio on Saturday mornings with @SciCommStudios – like a scientific ‘thought for the day’ but we call it ‘Saturday Science’. An occasional science missionary in the world of PechaKucha and Bright Club (academics do stand-up). Science communication interests seem to be focussed on the historic and macabre (Poisons, Vampires, Frankenstein). Always looking for new ways of showing just how bloody amazing science can be.
